Wanna get those fingers pumping and in prime shape when October ends and the serious writing begins?

If you answered YES! I've got the answer for you, a Pre-NaNoWriMo Word War. The warring will begin at 7:00 pm CST (8:00 pm for all you east coast people) and will run till we get tired of each other or run out of words.

I'll be signing into yahoo and creating a chat room. Just ping me for invites, my yahoo name is shay_885 (thinking of adding the word notorious to my screen name hehhhehehehhehe)

DO NOT FREAK OUT.

do i have your attention now?

Seriously, don't freak out. Chris and the gang are doing some heavy site work to get Drupal to bend to their will, and part of that will be disabling the general forums for a while. You'll still be able to post to your regional forums, but everything else'll be off. They'll be back up soon enough, but not until they can fix some of the major glitches that we've been going through.

Just wanted to make sure y'all got the message. :D

Also? word war at 8 pm EST on Wednesday via yahoo instant messanger. :D

PONY UP! It's word war time, y'all. For the next two hours, I'm here and ready to mod some word wars. again, IM armadillosoufle on yahoo, and you'll get an invite to the chat room, and we'll go from there.

TWO HOUR WARNING!!!

This is your two hour warning call for our word war tonight, my lovelies. at 8 pm, EST, I will open up a chat for us in yahoo messanger. Ping armadillosoufle if you want an invite. For the most part, this will be a "Free write" word war, with no specific prompts, unless you specifically request one from me. Than i'll help you out. The way it's looking right now, we're going to go with 1 30 minute war for 500 words, 2 30 minute wars for 1000 words, and if anyone's brave enough, 1 30 minute war for 1500 words. If not, it'll be 1000. And Ill tell y'all up front, 1500 is more than possible. I've done 2000 before, when i've gotten on a roll. :D

again... TWO HOUR WARNING!! :D

god i love this time of year.

Hey folks.

Here is the Forum thread for d_i_p_p_y at the NaNoWriMo forums.

here's a roll call.

I am dragondanger over there. What about you?

All righty y'all, it's that time of year again!! The nano forums open up again today (at some point...last I checked, they weren't open yet, but I'm sure they're getting there!), which means we have one month (EEP!) until NaNoWriMo 2007.

For those of you who were around last year, I'm sure you remember how this works, but bear with me while I explain it for those who're new. Once or twice a week, I (or one of the other mods, but usually myself) host a word war via an instant messaging system, usually yahoo, to help us get used to writing under pressure (in October) or to boost our word count (in November). There's a set time limit, half an hour to an hour, and a set goal that we all strive to reach, though if we don't, it's not a big deal. It's a lot of fun, and everyone that participates has told me that it does wonders for their self-esteem, word counts, and energy.

Below is a poll to see what's best for word wars this year. Last year, we held them on Wednesdays, starting at about 8 pm, and lasting for as long as people were around and still wanted to participate. I wanted to make sure that that was still a valid time and day for everyone, or to find out when *was*, just in case. :) Please pick just *TWO* days, no more, as a day that you would really be able to do this, and *TWO* times that would be good to start. Obviously, the earlier hours would be more applicable to Saturday and Sunday, for obvious reasons, but if you find that noon on Tuesdays is the best time for you, then by all means, mark it down. I'll give this a little bit, and then we'll decide for sure when we're going to do this.

That said, I'm going out on a limb here, and saying that our first word war will be on Wednesday evenings, starting at 8. I personally will only be able to hang around until 10 pm as I've added an extra activity to my work load this year (on top of being a mother and an ML. though I took away work this year...though not by choice, I *assure* you) called school. ~Headdesk~ this'll be fun. :P At any rate, this Thursday, i've got two midterms, so I'm going to have to get a decent night's sleep. One of our other mods may be willing to take over running the word war after that, so I'm definitely not saying that at 10, we're done, but I will be.

Look, I babbled. I hope it makes sense to someone besides me. ~laughs~ (word count: 455 :D )

ETA: All times below should be considered EASTER STANDARD TIME (or GMT-0500). I know that that's going to be inconvenient for a lot of you, but that's what I live in, and honestly, that's what's going to have to be worked in. Sorry.

Hey folk, how is everyone doing? I was considering trying to liven this place up **peers around**

I am still fiddling around with it, so please bear with me. You will have to register to use it, it is run off of my website.

With NaNo right around the corner and I know I am doing NaNo I thought I would set up this live chat room so we can schedule chats to discuss NaNo, do word wars and whatnot. And post NaNo for editing or just wanting to talk real time.

If you folks want to schedule your own chats you are more than welcome to.

To register go here

To login after registering go here

If anything goes wrong let me know...
